Murrah forward LaSondra Barrett and East Okitbbeha guard April Sykes were given happy meals in the form of the McDonald’s High School All-American girls basketball team selection. How many boys were selected from Mississippi? I really don’t think there were any – nope not one.

LaSondran and her Lady Mustangs are continuing to dominate girls basketball in Mississippi. They defeated their rivals, Provine 75-54 in the first round of the North Mississippi Class 5A playoffs, but it doesn’t stop there. They have to beat Tupelo on Friday or beat the loser of the South Panola-Greenville loser on Saturday to come back to home sweet home and play for their eighth state title. With an McDonald’s All-American player, the Murrah girls basketball team is sure to have a happy ending.
