Christmas came early for Ole Miss football fans. Santa Claus brought jolly new Head Coach Houston Nutt to the Little Timmy of the SEC, Ole Miss Football program. It truly was a night before Christmas when Coach Nutt left Arkansas and ventured south to the land of fried catfish. He was greeted by 1,500 adoring fans and a nice stocking filled with $1.7 million dollars a year – now that’s no lump of coal.

I really hope Coach Nutt can revive the Ole Miss program and bring cheer back to the Rebel fans. He has all that “tradition” to live up to and the pressure to please. If he doesn’t deliver you have to know the headlines are going to read, “Houston, We Have a Problem”.

For Mississippi State fans, Christmas is going to come in the form of a bowl game. We should know what bowl they’ll play in this Sunday. It looks like the cowbells won’t have to travel far to ring in the New Year. The Music City bowl played in Nashville on New Year’s Eve is a strong possibility.

Now for Southern, the team without a head coach. They’re playing in the elusive papajohns.com bowl where the trophy is a large pepperoni pizza, okay not really, but that would be awesome if it was! Coach Brewer was forced out before he got to place his order. Now it’s time for speculation and rumors of where he will go and who will come in to fill his shoes. What do you think Southern fans, who do you want to see as Head Coach? Make your wish and check it twice, because Santa’s gonna find out whose been naughty or nice!
