Lady Rebels Are Lady Killers

While most of the Ole Miss fans sulk at the less than impressive football season, the Lady Rebel Volleyball team is making a killing – with double digit kills. Against a #2 SEC East Kentucky team, Katie Kramer led the Rebels with 19 kills, Catilin Weiss had 18 kills, Jackie Jones had 15 kills, and Lauren Moffett had 10 kills. For those one-minded football folks... a kill is a volleyball spike that the opposing team can’t keep in play... and thus is recorded as a ‘kill.’ The Lady Rebels are pretty much pretty lady killers – watch out Rebel fans!

They recently had their first ever season sweep of Kentucky by a score of 3-1 and clinched their first winning record in the SEC since 1984! Go ahead, jump on the bandwagon, I’ll allow it. I mean the Ole Miss football wagon is stuck in the mud so you might as well.

Stop complaining about that Alabama football game and focus your anger at the match up this Thursday when the Lady Rebs play the Crimson Tide. Ole Miss is only one game behind number one Alabama in the SEC West battle. Their record stands 22-6 on the year and 11-5 in the SEC – yes, 11 more conference wins than the football team.

Big congrats to Jackie Jones who was named SEC Freshman of the Week. This girl knows how to get it done. She had back-to-back career performances with 20 kills against Tennessee and another 15 kills against Kentucky. Spike.

If you want to see some real hits, hustle, and heart... check out the Lady Rebels Volleyball team, they won’t disappoint (like another team I know)
